I’d like to hear from anyone who might be able to share a way to quickly get an insight into the recurring invoices total expected for the month ahead. In fact it would be useful to see on all months how much of the income was from recurring invoices and how much was from manually generated invoices.

There’s not a direct way to get what you are after built into QuickFile.
You can however use the Sales_invoice.CSV contained within your backup
using the INVOICE TYPE column and the DATE columns to filter the content will give you Net, Vat and Gross values for a period for recurring invoices only.
Thanks but actually many of the invoices generated from recurring profiles are just labelled as invoices so not going to be useful. There are a few labelled as recurring but most are just labelled invoice (I guess incorrectly).
