Hi there. the Quickfile sytem seems to have changed refunds.
My Client overpaid which left his account in credit .
I went to refund in bank feed and this appears
Invoices with items posted to more than one nominal account will not appear here. For such cases a manual credit note will need to be applied.
No qualifying sales invoice could be found to refund against. Make sure the corresponding invoice has been logged before you attempt to process this refund.
i then created an invoice with to toal the refund amount and used the credit but still no use.
Refunds like this are a bit clunky in QuickFile, there’s no way to tag a bank feed transaction as the return of an unallocated payment. So what you will need to do is:
go to the client’s summary page, view all payments, and find the payment where they overpaid in the first place
click through to that, there should be an option at the top to “refund balance”
enter the correct date and choose your current account
this will have created a pre-tagged refund transaction in the bank account that is a duplicate of the untagged one from your bank feed; delete the untagged transaction to bring things back into balance.
Correct - the pre-tagged transaction from “refund balance” and the untagged one from the feed are duplicates with the same date and the same amount, so just delete the untagged one to get the end-of-day bank balance correct.
