As a co-op we’re selling community shares.
Is there a way to raise an invoice for these directly, or should I just raise a normal invoice as if selling any product and then create a journal?
If so, what journal do I make? Is it:
Debit General Sales (4000)
Credit Ordinary Shares (3000)
Thanks.
If you are issue new share then it will be
Dr Bank
Cr Share capital a/c
No invoice to issue instead share certificates
Thanks very much for the quick response and useful advice.
I’ve issued invoices so that people can use GoCardless/Stripe to pay.
I’ll issue share certificates once we’ve received the money.
Does this change anything?
It not an income hence cannot issue invoice, it should not end up in P&L at all, its purely balance sheet event
system
