Tagging in Bank Statements

Hi. I have been using QuickFile for a couple of months but only for invoicing and purchases so far. I am due to file my VAT this month so have started to go a bit more in depth (probably should have done sooner)!! I have only just linked my actual business current account and want to tag all transactions to this so I have made it the main account. However everything that I have logged so far has been tagged the automated account - how do I delete or untag from this account so I can use the correct account? Hope this makes sense!!

Thanks

Hi @BlueFlag

We’ll certainly try our best to help you.

What are you referring to here (“automated account”)? Is it just the case that the transactions have been tagged for you already (from bank tagging rules for example)?

Hi - When I go into Bank Accounts I have my Santander Accounts that I set up today and another current account (started as £0 balance) which was there when I started using Quick File which has all the transactions tagged to it. It looks like I can delete everything that has been tagged to this account but didn’t want to do this if it messes anything up.

If you delete everything that’s tagged, it’ll undo any of the tagged actions, e.g. any paid invoices will become unpaid.

Is it just the case of getting those transactions into the Santander account rather than the current account that was created for you?

I think so …? I have put the opening balance on the Santander Account from 1st Oct which is when I started using quick file so I am guessing that I need to reconcile everything from then. Can I tag to both accounts if I leave the original one as it is?

There is a way to move all the transactions over to the Santander account. Let me send you a private message so I can get some account details from you, and hopefully understand the situation better.

Please look for a green notification in the top right corner.
