Several requests in one, mostly feature.
A/ QF has 2 meanings for “tagging”:
one is attaching a project to an invoice
one is linking a payment to an invoice (pardon my simplistic explanantion, I am not an accountant)
The two are very different.
Can you find a way to prevent this confusion? (eg the first one should be “project”?)
B/ The tagging (as in project naming) is only reached when you click on a filled in invoice and it displays the final version.
I know it is not related to the invoice itself, but it would be great if you could have the option to add these projects at the time of filling in the invoice. It would save a lot of time and leave less chance of forgetting to attach projectss
C/ I have not found a way to list all the invoices that did NOT have a project tagging attached. However I’d like to make sure that almost all my invoices have a project attached.
If this is implemented, can you please tell me how to do this?
If not, can you please consider for implementation?
A - We have Project Tagging and Bank Tagging. The latter is a little more than linking payments to invoices, it covers any of the routines you can access from the bank statement page by tagging an entry.
I’m open to suggestions here, although I don’t know really how much confusion this causes? Any other input from other users would be appreciated.
B - There’s an open feature request for this (I will hunt this down). You can also create invoices directly from the project detail screen and it will inherit the relevant project tag.
C - At the moment there’s no filter for project tags on the invoice list page. You can partially solve this by clicking the button in the top right to show all tags.
You can then see at a glance (50 items at a time) which are missing tags:
When adding point B, can you please also add the possibilities, when selecting a project tag:
At the moment, when you click “add tag” the popup window doesn’t get the focus so you need to focus on it to start entering tags - can you please make this automatically focus on it?
with autocomplete, the list of available tags with the currently typed part of word is displayed, but you can not go up/down to select the one you want then decide it using “enter”, you have to use the mouse to select. Can you please make it so that a fully keyboard entry is possible?
I’ve made a recommendation for the usability enhancements on the project tagging box. I can’t promise anything will change imminently but we’ll take a look.
I think the above last two requests (focus, and selection from list by keyboard) have been solved by the dev team now. I’ve already started to enjoy the new usability, thank you!
I hope consideration for entering the projet tags when entering the invoice detail (point B/) will be implemented some day.

There’s a few users who also want to be able to add tags on creation. I’m pretty sure this will get implemented, unfortunately I don’t have a timeframe on that right now.
