"The company number supplied appears to be invalid"

Hi,

I’ve been using Quickfile for quite a few months now but just recently I’ve noticed an error message next to my company number in Management Information - “The company number supplied appears to be invalid.” I don’t think this message used to be there, and I have checked it again on the Companies House website and it definitely matches it exactly. I’ve also checked “Show key filing dates” on the dashboard and that information is coming through.

Additionally, I changed my company name recently, I don’t know if this has anything to do with the problem. I think I have changed my name on the software in all the right places.

I think this problem is causing my Quickfile account to not sync with Google calendar. Any suggestions of how to fix this would be greatly appreciated

Hi @Rhi

How have you entered your company number? If it starts with a ‘0’, try removing it. E.g. 0912345 becomes just 912345.

I don’t believe that changing your company name would affect this, so the above should work (fingers crossed).

As for the Google Calendar, this is independent of the Companies House lookup, so the error here would be down to something else. Are there any events being synced with the calendar?

Hi,

I just deleted the zero and the message has changed to “awaiting verification” so I think that has fixed it, thanks!

No events at the moment, however it previously showed the end of year/annual filings dates.

Ah ha, these are linked to your company number. So the calendar itself should be working, but these particular events rely on details supplied by Companies House. Once the verification is complete, it should start working again. Keep an eye on it, and let me know how it goes

The verification is now complete, and the events have come across to my google calendar. Thanks for all your help!
