VAT change of report date - Tax summary report

I looking for help on the VAT - Tax Summary - Reports, section.

I’ve been using Quickfile for over a year now and find it a good system.

Earlier this year, I changed the company’s VAT quarter date (with HMRC) to coincide with the accounting year end date. I’ve been using Quickfile to file VAT returns (cash accounting) electronically since day one.

Since changing the VAT quarter date (and updating the Quickfile VAT info) VAT returns have shown the new quarter periods and I’ve submitted several VAT returns since.

However, I can’t seem to get the Reports - Tax Summary - VAT report to show the new VAT quarter dates. I’ve checked all the settings in Quickfile I can see, the VAT quarter dates are correct. I’ve changed the VAT start date to see if that would help, it didn’t. I’ve disconnected the HMRC link and reconnected. Still no joy. Can’t see what else to do. Not a major issue but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. Colin.

Are they though? HMRC uses the end of quarter months and Quickfile for some reason uses the beginning of quarter months so it’s easy to get this wrong even though it looks right.

Thank you. You are absolutely correct. Hadn’t noticed that Quickfile uses VAT quarter start dates rather than end dates. A little odd that Quickfile does that but changing the quarter dates to start months fixed it.
Appreciate the help.
