VAT MTD - is QF fully HMRC Compliant?

  1. I believe from the latest QF posts that it is now ready to use wrt MTD?
Is it therefore safe to join the HMRC pilot?

  2. Also, there seems to be contradictory info about using MTD if using flat rate VAT scheme.
As a ltd company using flat rate, can I now join the HMRC pilot?

  3. If I’m eligible, then how do I get set-up on QF?

  4. From today, I’m due to do a VAT for the last quarter. Can I use QF (once on board with HMRC and QF) to do this return OR do I have to take notice of this HMRC advice:
‘If you pay your VAT by Direct Debit you will not be able to sign up in the 15 working days leading up to your submission date and the 5 working days immediately after it.’

Hi @Ian_Dobbin

For VAT yes. HMRC haven’t released other details relating to the overall MTD scheme as of yet. But QuickFile is a recognised provider for this with HMRC.

I’ve grouped these 2 together as my advice would be the same - this would be a restriction imposed by HMRC, so your best bet is to query this with them directly. It’s my understanding that there are no restrictions on the scheme type now (although there were initially), but HMRC can confirm this.

Simply go to Reports >> HMRC and add your HMRC account. Once you do this, we will start showing you records of payments and VAT periods that are available with MTD.

Thanks for the prompt response. I shall check with HMRC!
Once I confirm, I can update the community.
