Vat return 01/12/2018 to 31/01/2019

Just doing the vat return and noticed that it only does two months and not the normal three
none of my settings have been changed

Is this your first return? If not what period does the previous return cover? What period should it be covering? What are your VAT quarters?

My previous return was 1st September to 30th November, it then should be 1st December to the 28th of February. When I click on new return it comes up with Date range from 01/12/2018 to 31/01/2019

Hi Geoff1,

I have had a quick look into this for you and I believe it has something to do with your VAT settings. If you want the period 01.12.18 to 28.02.19 then you would need to select the option that has Mar, Jun, Sep, Dec.

The wording on QuickFile may have thrown you as it is month commencing rather than HMRC’s wording of Month ending.
