VAT Return Error 401

I received this message when I triend to submit VAT return.

HMRC Error Code: 401, Status: MISSING_CREDENTIALS, Message: Authentication information is not provided

We recommend rolling back the return ending 31 July 2020 and resubmitting. If the error persist or you’re unsure why you are seeing this error please contact us.

I tried rolling back and re-submitting but got same message.
I have had to set up a new tax account as the old one was over 18 months old. Do I need to contact HMRC or is it something QuickFile can help with?

Usually when there’s issues like this the recommendation is to completely disconnect and then re-connect your tax account from the “reports -> HMRC” page in QuickFile. This often fixes authentication issues.
