I am trying to start to enter my return but when i go to start the VAT return i get the following

You are not yet authorised to view this report for the VRN 152644418 . Please ensure your VAT number is correct and you have connected the corresponding HMRC Tax Account. If you have recently enrolled on the MTD scheme please allow 24 hours for HMRC systems to update.

I need to submit today so any help would be appreciated.

Hi @misha,

Have you signed up and received the confirmation email from HMRC?

I think its my fault. I have unticked the MTD box and now I can submit. Am i right in understanding that we only submit under MTD for our quarter that starts on 1st April and not for the one that ended 31March?

That would be something to check with HMRC - and whether or not you have enrolled with MTD

You are only required to use MTD for quarters starting 1st April or later, but once you sign up for MTD on the HMRC side then you must use it for all returns from then on, even if they’re for earlier quarters.

I am also having difficulties submitting my VAT return, but if think the problem lies with my tax account being connected, when clicking on submit a return, i am told i’m not authorised, i have spoken to HMRC and they say it is a software problem, any ideas anyone?

have you had the confirmation from HMRC? and when you log into HMRC directly can you see that your account has been enabled for MTD?

Yes, HMRC confirmed i am MTD ready and i have received a confirmation email
