When should I file my first vat return

Hi, I set up my account and my open periods show correctly with HMRC. My first return is due on the 7 Sept 22 but I only set this up with Quickfile today on the 5th. Should I wait for HMRC to confirm my MTD status? I’ve been reading that I should not sign up for MTD straight before or after the due date. I have uploaded my spreadsheet (using your Bridging software and it seems it’s all ready to go , when should I submit?

Also, can you please confirm the pricing, I thought it was free of charge and now I read somewhere else that I need to become a Power User and pay £45? Thank you.

Hi,
If you use the bridging module it is always £45 +VAT (£60 + VAT from October).
But you can use quickfille for free if you do your bookkeeping in quickfille and don’t use the bridging module. It is free to use up to 1000 ledger entries. See link below

Hope this helps

Thanks. Can you please also respond to the first question I asked regarding the timing of filing? Thank you.

Hello @edora

QuickFile will allow you to submit at any time as soon as you have linked your HMRC account successfully.

When is best to submit your return would be a question to confirm with your accountant.
