Braintree integration

Hi,

Do you have any plans to integrate with Braintree?

If Braintree become popular in the UK and frequently requested here then this would be something we’d consider yes. I like the idea of having a few different payment methods through one single integration, they claim to support PayPal, Bitcoin, Venmo and Apple Pay.

Are you using Braintree at the moment? How do the fees compare to integrating with PayPal directly?

Hi Glen,

I have just started using braintree for my online shop http://ha-solutions.co.uk.
It allows for direct integration with the gateway allowing customers to stay on the site.

No monthly charges and also first £30K of transactions are free. They are actually owned by Paypal

hi, has there been any progress or dev on this?

we are a QF customer (****1411989) and currently use PP as payment provider with integration but we are now wanting to move to braintree, lower fees, better security/fraud protection etc etc

we will have to leave QF if there is no support for braintree

thanks
Darren

Hi @visumgroup

We don’t directly support Braintree, but we do integrate with Zapier who supports Braintree. This can, for example, log a bank entry on QuickFile when a new transaction is created on QuickFile

Take a look here: https://zapier.com/zapbook/braintree/quickfile/

thanks, cant seem to find pricing on zapier site tho, and sure its not free, paying them would remove any saving we get from going away from paypal…

braintree send the payments to our barclays account as each transaction is completed, but, i am assuming these will all show in barclays as the “customer” being braintree, so just using the barclays bank to create the entries won;t work, unless i am missing something.

also if braintree send to barclays like that and as we are already importing our bank transactions it would seem we will double up and have to keep deleting/marking duplicate entries?

thanks
D

Zapier pricing can be found here: https://zapier.com/app/pricing. It’s free for so many ‘zaps’

I’m not sure how Braintree works, but I would suspect you would set it up using the same concept as PayPal - you have a holding account on QuickFile until the payment clears and is then transferred to your main bank account. The Barclay’s feed would produce the latter, but the initial record could be produced by Zapier.

The only thing I can suggest, is try it. If you’re a Power User Subscription (or have a L/XL account with us), then you can use Zapier on their free tier. At least you could have a play around with it and see what’s possible.

Zapier supports hundreds of apps, so I’ve not had chance to use all of them. Would be interested to find out how you get on though
