Cannot delete a locked payment

Hi there,

I have noticed that I have a duplicate payment to a supplier in QuickFile. They are the same amount, they are both tagged, one is allocated to a purchase invoice I made, so I want to keep this one. But the other is unallocated and I’d like to delete it but QuickFile is not letting me because it says it’s for a period for which I have already files a VAT return.

Is there another way to force the deletion?

Hello @mummyhodglim You have two options: Roll back the associated VAT return and then re-run it Refund the amount Option 1 will allow you to amend/delete the entries as required. This would however mean that if the VAT return has already been sent to HMRC, you may need to notify them of the error. To rollback a return, providing it’s your most recent one, you can view the return itself on QuickFile and click “Rollback” at the bottom. This will completely undo the VAT return on QuickFile - …
