Hello @Raj
You could look at the API documentation as it lists the field types and sizes
Thank you Steve
On the other hand if I edit the invoice the description field seems to hold a lot more than 35 characters?
Hello @Raj
When you import invoices transactions, they are imported as single line invoices, you can not import multi line invoices.
The item line data in QuickFile can hold much more information as shown below.
If you were to import you can see the invoice name field (highlighted) is only 35 characters.
There was a feature request in the forum relating to importing multi line invoices, please feel free to add your vote
Can I ask where you are importing the invoices from as If your using another system for invoicing, you don’t necessarily need all the data in QuickFile.
Hi Steve,
Apologies… misunderstanding…I meant the “description field” in the invoice. After the item
Item — “Description” — Unit Cost —
So what is the limitation of this “description” field
1000 characters according to those same API docs (expand out the invoice lines and item lines sections of the body).
Hello @Raj
When you import an invoice they are imported as single line invoices, the invoice name is where they are import into (limit 35 characters), this is also transposed into the item line description.
Thank you both. Much appreciated
