Importing Multi Line Invoices from WooCommerce

Hey Guys,

I want to start using QuickFile to help my local PTA keep it’s books in order, but not coping with multi-line orders from WooCommerce is really killing me. I really need to be able to import or transfer each line item, so it is obvious what the order relates to without having to look in 2 different places. Ideally I would like to be able to tag each line to a project, so an event sale of entry ticket and separate food order could be tagged to “event” and “food” projects, which would make showing profitably SOOOO easy.

Am I hoping for too much? I can’t justify the cost of the “big” packages, so are we doomed to Excel forever?

Thanks

Simon

Hi @bradleysp

If you’re importing a list of invoices from a CSV, then unfortunately this is restricted to just 1 line at this moment in time.

You may wish to explore our API however which would allow you to add multi-line invoices. Plus, there’s a possibility of automating the process to save you time too:

https://api.quickfile.co.uk/d/v1_2/Invoice_Create

Another thing you may wish to look at is Zapier. I don’t have access to WooCommerce to look into it in too much detail, but you may be able to trigger a new invoice through Zapier:
https://zapier.com/sign-up/?next=/app/editor/template/6901

Lastly, there is an active feature request for multi-line invoice importing that you may wish to add your vote/comments to:

In QuickFile you can only apply project tags to the invoice as a whole, not to individual lines, though you could use different nominal codes for the lines (which would separate them on the P&L report but wouldn’t allow you to link sales and purchase items to the same tag).
