More Details –
I think 1and1 use auth.smtp.1and1.co.uk as the SMTP server for external authenticated access from memory.

Yes as per @Lurch suggestion it is actually auth.smtp.1and1.co.uk. I changed this on your account and it worked fine. Now fully activated. I’m sure you will not encounter any further issues with bounced mail.
