Is it possible to send document via message - and not as attached to invoice/quote?
You had mentioned in previous post that you can send link to a document and share it that way.
How can it be done?

There’s nothing stopping you from sending a link in a message, although what type of message are you referring to? Do you mean in the email body text that gets sent with an invoice?
