Hi, I hope you can help me with this question. Would it be possible set up an opening balance in the balance sheet? The reason why I am asking this, it is because I want to reflect the transactions that I made the last financial year in another accounting system.

You can journal them in or you can use the opening balance setup tool as described in method 2 here.
