Website Outage - 19th October

Well done. I appreciate your efforts to keep the service running, also to safeguard our accounts.

Please convey my thanks to your team.

Best regards,

Donā€™t these stupid script kiddies have anything better to do? Idiots.Fingers crossed your servers a clean soon.

In terms of QuickFile, no.

We have today moved the systems behind the DDoS protection provided by cloudflair to mitigate the disruption and get things back in order, which unfortunately is still a work in progress.

I certainly will - thank you.

@Simon_Keats - Certainly seems that way. We hope to get everything resolved ASAP. Weā€™ll continue to keep our users updated.

Hi, Thank you for your hard work getting it online. I currently have people putting details on the system (purchases, receipts etc) Will any of these be removed and a backup restored or will they be okay?

Thank you, thatā€™s easier to understand

@EasyWebsiteUK - Iā€™d hold off entering any data for the moment. Connections are still intermittent

Iā€™ve been trying to create an invoice but I cannot. Earlier, eventually the invoice page appeared, but then it stopped again, and was replaced with a page saying the host is offline.

Hi Glenn / QuickFile team

I just wanted to say thank you for doing a sterling job and hope you get service resolved soon.

Iā€™m tech savvy so know the issues youā€™re faced with. Best of luck chaps.

@HP57 - Iā€™ve moved your post here to keep everything together. Please see the previous posts above

@JVE - thank you for your patience, support and understanding!

Okay, nothing that has been entered during the intermittent 5 minutes of it working will be lost though will they?

@EasyWebsiteUK - it shouldnā€™t be, but I wouldnā€™t enter any data just to be safe.

Still wondering what the ETA is on getting back online its getting quite urgent

We have just posted further details, including an update into a new thread. However, we will continue to update this thread too as and when things change.

You can view the notice here:

Do you have the IP address of the new web site so we can dial it directly while the DNS records get updated? Thanks.

Thatā€™s not how it works, part of the point of CloudFlare is to use short TTL DNS records to spread the load across many different front-end IP addresses. If you have control over your local DNS server you could manually configure it to delegate *.quickfile.co.uk lookups to the authoritative servers listed in whois (kanye.ns.cloudflare.com and sandy.ns.cloudflare.com) instead of its regular upstream, but if you donā€™t then youā€™ll just have to wait for the nameserver changes to propagate in the normal way.

Our team have continued to work with our data centre and cloudflare to get things back up and running. Some users may start seeing cloudflare appearing when accessing the site this morning, but will see an error (522).

There are still some issues in place preventing access to accounts and the main site, which we continue to work on with the relevant third party companies. Enabling access back into accounts remains a top priority for us.

Good luck chaps! (Iā€™m off today, so at least thatā€™s one less person to hassle you!)

Iā€™m sure we all appreciate the hours youā€™ve no doubt put into getting a resolution - And Iā€™m sure the boss will buy you all a slap up breakfast and beers when itā€™s all working
