A customizable reporting option for recipt hub

Feature requested Receipt Hub
_I’d like to propose an enhancement to the reporting feature in Receipt Hub that could significantly improve its usability. Currently, sorting documents by date order presents challenges, as we often need to open each file individually to confirm if it relates to a specific accounting period.

A customizable reporting option—where users could specify a date range or accounting period—would make this process far more efficient. This flexibility would save valuable time and effort, especially for companies like ours that manage a large volume of documents.

I believe this improvement could be beneficial to many users. Please let me know if you’d like additional feedback or further details on how this could be implemented.

I would also like to see a more enhanced search facility within the Receipt Hub. Is it possible to use the search options which are already in use elsewhere in the system which provide a search by ‘Preset Range’ i.e. Accounting Years, Months, Quarters, Calendar Years, Custom? Just to make sure I fully understand the requirement here, I just want to clarify a few things if that’s OK?

  • With the date searching, is this for the document upload date, or the invoice it’s attached to?
  • If it’s the latter, what happens if it’s attached to multiple documents, which date should be used?
  • Do you have a use case for this at all? Does it differ from searching for a purchase invoice with an attachment?

Hi Mathew … Currently it appears that the search does not accept either date uploaded or Receipt Number… so I would expect for the Receipt Hub at least searching by receipt number and/or a date uploaded range (from - to) would be helpful. Thank you for getting back so quickly.

The Receipt Hub it there to attach documents to invoices.

Any searching in relation to vat returns would be looking at the relevant transactions for the period, not the attached document

.Northern Power Electronics (Account Number: 6131557798) has been asked by our accounting service to provide all purchase invoices for the tax return and VAT filing. In previous years, I printed all documents and handed them over in person. However, this year, I am keen to adopt a paperless approach. There may still be instances where they need to review the invoices directly.

In most cases your accountant can log in and get the data they need. I can see on the account you mention, it looks like your accountant has been added.

They can log in and get any purchase invoices they require.

There may still be instances where they need to review the invoices directly.

When invoice are are added via the receipt hub they are linked to the invoices. They can be seen by opening the purchase and looking on the attachments or from the purchase screen they can click on the attachment icon.
