Accrual accounting not autofilling return

Hi I am trying to submit my first VAT return using this software today. I have input all the purchases and all the sales but none are being pulled onto the return. I have specified the period and all sales and purchases in this period are marked as paid. Using accrual accounting.
Pleas confirm what I am doing wrong?

Have you checked your VAT settings are set up for Accrual and that you have entered a start date? have you also checked the date range of the VAT return covers the dates of the entries you have done?
