I added a new supplier today using details from Companies House. I filled in the contact email address by copying an email address from an email the supplier had sent me.
When I clicked the 'Save Details button, I got this message:
What it actually meant was “The email is not in a recognisable format”.
When I copied it out of Outlook and pasted it, I got this:
Needless to say, I ‘tried again later’ several times before I realised what the problem was.
I think the error message should be clarified or (better) QuickFile should be able to take a decent guess at the email by working forwards and backwards from the ‘@’ character until a valid address can be formed. (Could also ask the user to confirm the guess, of course).
