I don’t use (or currently want to use) Quickfile to submit my VAT returns, year end or CT returns they are all produced & submitted by my accountant.
I would though like to log my VAT payments within Quickfile so it accurately reflects my ongoing liabilities. Is there a way I can ‘create’ and pay my VAT return manually without actually submitting this to HMRC?
You can process your VAT returns on QuickFile without sending them to HMRC. Unless you setup the online filing part all it will do is just lock things down and apply some journals.
The easiest way for you to handle this would probably be to post a single journal once every quarter to move the “Sales Tax” and “Purchase Tax” balances to the VAT liability account. I’d have word with your accountant about that in terms of the figures.
