Affinity set up

I have a Quickfile account to run my sole trader business and need to set up a linked account for my property income. I am finding the set up for Affinity very confusing as it just seems to send me round in circles. Do I need to link my original account to Affinity before setting up the new one as when I put in my details it just says there is already an account with that email address and to open a new Affinity account.

Hello @Kevin_Linnell

You may find it easier to create a new QuickFile account using a different email address.

That way you would have 2 independent QuickFile accounts with their own logins.

If you are not starting with Affinity and then creating accounts from within it, you would have to use a different email address to set up affinity to the one you used for your initial QuickFile account.

Then you can link the original QuickFile account and create the new one.

Wouldn’t having 2 separate accounts be more expensive than using Affinity? I thought Affinity was created so that you could have separate accounts under the same log in. Why is it so difficult to set this up?

Hello @Kevin_Linnell

QuickFile is free up to the first 1000 nominal postings in a rolling 12 month period then £45 (60 from 01/11/2022) per year after that.
This includes MTD submissions and is simple to use.

Affinity Billing explained:

Hi,
if you have 2 or more accounts you can, of course, use affinity. But affinity was created more for accountants and bookkeeper to keep all their clients accounts easy to access. It also has different features than the individual account. It is may worth reading the pricing pages for both types of accounts ( as Steve mentioned) and also the feature list, the differences and similarities.

Hope this helps
