Affinity vs Power User Subscription

Hello,

I apologise if this issue has been addressed multiple times in the past, but having read the help guides and various past posts on the forum, I am still struggling to understand how Affinity interacts with the Power User subscription, or vice versa.

It would appear that most of the ‘extra’ features enabled by the Power User subscription are already present in profiles set up within Affinity? For example, in the profiles I have created so far within Affinity (most in the ‘large’ category, but no Power User subscriptions purchased) I can see segmented P&L, audit trail, profits available for distribution, split bank tagging, multi-currency reporting (not an exhaustive list of the features apparently only available for a Power User).

So my question is: What additional features would my clients actually benefit from by paying the extra £60 + VAT per year? Can you please provide a definitive list of exactly what additional features will be enabled by a Power User subscription which are not already present in a profile created via my Affinity account. I have stumbled across a few, such as some design customisation options in the settings and Crezco integration, but I would rather know exactly what additional options are available, instead of finding out by trial and error. (Incidentally, I have read article 8853 in the help centre, which hasn’t particularly helped to clear up my confusion!)

Also, if it is necessary to purchase a Power User subscription for any of my clients, how would I go about adding it to my monthly bill? I couldn’t see any option to do so in the subscriptions section within the individual client’s profile page.

Thank you in anticipation of your clarification on these matters.

Hello @Alister

I have asked the development team for a definitive list for us to publish.

All Power user subscriptions need to be paid for in full by card, this can be done by:

  • Clicking the clients company name in the top right
  • Click “Services / Subscriptions”
  • Click “Update or add a new subscription”
  • Choose “Power User Subscription”
  • Click “Make secure card payment”

I purchased the £60 subscription and as yet i have not noticed anything beneficial above the free version, apart from keyboard shortcuts, that are not particularly helpful anyway. Kb short cut for save would be very useful as the constant use of the mouse is a slow option.

The segments P/L isn’t much help either as far as I can tell.

I would appreciate the list from.the team when you receive it.

HI @JANET1

Any accounts graded as L or XL require the subscription to continue to use QuickFile, but smaller accounts can optionally purchase it for the additional features.

The list is being finalised as new support article, but in the meantime, you can find an overview of the Power User Subscription here, and the difference between the Power User Subscription and Affinity, here.

Thank you.

Where does it show L, XL.or otherwise please?

Hi janet1. I think this might be what your looking for Account size explained?

Thank you Steve - I await the definitive list with interest.

Regarding payment for any power user subscriptions I may sign up to on behalf of clients, in this post from Nov 2022 you stated that the subscription fee “can be paid as a one off or we can add it to your monthly billing” So the option to add the cost to the firm’s monthly Affinity bill has evidently been available in the recent past - has this now changed? If so, when?
