Aged Creditor Analysis

Hi I am trying to get an amount of which I will owe ceditors come the end of July. The report I get when I run is a little misleading as it has not included invoices received from the 21st June till the 30th June as my terms are 1 month +1. Also I dont like the way it divides it to 0-15 overdue and 16-30 etc etc as really they are not 0-15 overdue as they are really only due come 1st August. Is there a way of changing the settings to view what I need to see differently?

Hi @ESL62

The Creditor (Suppliers) Ageing Report will show you your account as it stands today. Any invoices that are outstanding at the time of viewing the report should appear - is that not the case for your account?

The overdue headings use the Due Date from the invoices, so if you have anything in the wrong category, please can you check the due date on the invoice and let me know if they are showing incorrectly (if you supply a few invoice numbers, we’ll take a look for you)?

The way it’s split up is a fixed format and can’t be changed, unfortunately.

Hi Matthew thanks for the reply. If you look at my account for Walter S Mercer I see that there is £1440.64 ‘overdue’ consisting of £1156.34 (0-15) and £284.30 (16-30). Do you think this is correct as my terms are 1 month +1 they would not be overdue until 1st August? However I would like to see what my payments should be to each of my suppliers come 30th July as I am trying to ensure I have sufficient funds in the bank to cover all creditors and I find this report a little misleading. Obviously come 30th July this figure will grow and I won’t get an accurate figure until then but this is too late for me to do the payments as I will lose my settlement discount.

I am a little new to all of this but I hope I am explaining myself to you correctly.

On the ageing report if you click on the figure for £1440.64 it will show you a list of invoices that make up this total, along with a column for the due date. Just looking at that list on your account all those purchase invoices have a due date prior to 21st July (today), so they are falling into the overdue columns.

I’m not sure if you updated the supplier preference to EOM + 1 after those invoices were created?

I’m afraid at the moment QuickFile does not have a cashflow projection, which is typically what this type of report would allow you to see.
