Before making adjustments can I do a backup, and if so how? If so how do I restore a backup?

A backup is an extract of all of your data which can be emailed to you.
You can not restore a backup.

What sort of adjustments are you making?, do you mean journals?
If so you can easily delete a journal if it is incorrect.
