Balance Sheet report - where does the P&L Account line come from?

P&L Account in the capital & reserve section on Balance sheet report
Please could you clarify where this amount comes from
The note says it is the profit and loss figure but never corresponds with the actual P&L accounts

It get difficult when we try to move to the tax software

Hi @DinahJones

On the P&L line there’s a little question mark - if you hover over this, it gives you a bit more information on how this figure is calculated.

In a nutshell however, it’s derived from your P&L for all time. If you view your P&L for all time (e.g. since 01/01/2010 to date), the figures should match, with the exception of retained profit/loss, which has it’s own line on the balance sheet.
