Bank of Scotland Bank Feed

Once I had purchased the bank feed option.I was quite thrilled at the thought of not having to manually reconcile bank details, only to find Bank of Scotland is not appearing to support this application.Although a few years ago it was functioning pretty well.
Any answer?
If it is not possible how do I get a refund?

Hi @goggles

You may need to do a search when trying to connect this. I’ve done a search on Yodlee for “Bank of Scotland”, and these are the top 3 results:

We do also plan to support Bank of Scotland through Open Banking, which is a direct feed with the bank. We’ll be posting any updates on the forum, but please let me know if this would be something you’d be interested in testing and I can make a note to contact you when the time comes.

hi goggles
Did you ever get this working? I am also with bank of scotland and willing to pay for this if it works.
thanks!
Hugh

Hi @scoraigwind

For some time now we’ve supported Bank of Scotland through our Yodlee partnership. We are also in the initial test stages with the Open Banking (Direct) Feed for BOS.

If you have a bank feed subscription you will be able to active the feed on your account. If it’s specifically the direct feed you’re looking for we’d gladly add you to the beta test group. Just let me know and I will send you a private message with more information.

Hi Mathew
Yes I would like to join the beta test group if it’s not too complicated for me.
thanks
Hugh

No, no one gotten back to me either, Spoke to Bank of Scotland they said feed only available with the other ‘Quickbook’ account software and sage!
I am quite disappointed with Quickfile weak response. My next step is to ask my credit card company to get my money back! Unfortunate because it causes unnecessary charges for Quickfile.

Hi @goggles

I’m not sure I follow your message in regards to the weak response. I posted a reply above 6 minutes after your initial post with some details with Yodlee. Please let me know if we can help you further with this. Apologies for any confusion caused here! Of course, please feel free to let me know if I’ve misunderstood your post as it’s not our intention to let queries go unanswered. We want to make sure these features work correctly.

To clarify, what the bank has said isn’t correct. There is a feed with QuickFile offered through Yodlee and Open Banking.

With Yodlee, searching for the bank like in the screenshot I posted above would allow you to connect it. The Open Banking feed is still in testing at the moment but we’re more than happy to add you to the testing programme for this if you wish?

If there’s anything else that you need help with, please don’t hesitate to ask.

In case it appears that I was left hanging there, I should state here that I got help (by private messages) with setting up the bank feed, and it’s working beautifully, and I have also managed to do my first mtd VAT return using quickfile, so all round I am a very happy bunny.

Not sure whether my last response was posted.
But I did try Yodell and it takes to Bank of Scotland personal banking. It was not accepting details for busines accounts. Can you help?

Did you try both the options shown in @QFMathew’s first reply? The initial list you see when you go to set up a Yodlee feed is just a small selection of the most popular options, you have to use the search box to find the others.

sorry to jump on this ticket, i was ttrying to setup on the new openbank and get this…

Sorry, we couldn’t set up sharing
Due to a technical problem you can’t share your data at the moment. Please try again later. We’ve logged you out of the Bank of Scotland Secure Gateway.

does it work yet?

thanks
scott

Hi @magnacom

At what stage do you see this error? Is it on the bank’s website, or within QuickFile?

i think its at the final confirmation stage after entry of account and login/
thanks
scott

If it’s on the bank website itself, this would be an issue on their side. If you’re seeing the error when you return to QuickFile, then we can certainly investigate it.

its back in the account but it says BOS authorisation server returned an error: BADSTATE

Hi @magnacom,

Are you able to screenshot the error and send it over to us so that we can look into this for you?

I have got the same problem and I have subscribed to the service (paid) although it’s for a different account (cbdrt.quickfile.co.uk) - 2 points here:

  1. If it is still in testing, you really shouldn’t be saying that it works!
  2. Can you add me to the direct program? (Bank of Scotland)
  3. Here is the error message:

Hi @MPF

Everything is working on our side, but there is an issue on the Bank of Scotland’s side of things which affects some users.

@bugtao recently posted that the bank had acknowledged and confirmed this issue:

What I would suggest in this case is contacting BoS to confirm that your account is affected. Also, in the meantime, you can set up a Yodlee feed.
