Bank transfer to Credit Card account

I down load the statement as a pdf and then converting it to a csv which normally works well.on this occasion the balance due was incorrect instead of being £2679.99 it was£ 26799.00. This caused QF account transfer not to work as expected. Could you advise how I can correct my error?

Hi @brian2

We’ll certainly try to help.

Could you clarify what you mean by “didn’t work as expected” please? E.g. what did you expect to happen, and what actually happened?

I am following the method set out in the Knowledge Base - Managing credit cards in QuickFile.
This is a screen print of the current account showing the 2679.99 entry.

This is a screen print of the Credit Card account showing the 2 entries one for 2679.99 and the other one for2679.00

These 2 screenshots are of previous entre first the current account and second the credit card account

You have 2 transactions in the the credit card account:

  • £2,679.99 (tagged, I presume as a transfer)
  • £2,679.00 (untagged)

Is the £2,679.00 transaction incorrect? If so, you should be able to delete it. Providing the bank statement within QuickFile matches your actual bank statement (at least, balance wise), then everything should be OK.

Thank you I will delete the incorrect entry (2979.00) now I know I will not create further problems

As I mentioned, providing your balances are correct, then everything should hopefully match up.

If you ever have a situation where you have a duplicate transaction or an incorrect one, deleting it won’t do any harm. You can always add it back manually if needed, providing the period isn’t locked
