Can you personalise the existing Directors Loan account

Hi

I have been recommended by a friend to use Quickfile as my accounting package for our new Ltd company. I have already spent a lot of time reading and have been very impressed with what I’ve seen so far.

Our company has 2 directors and I would like to have a DLA per director to keep all cash flow separate. I’ve successfully created a 2nd DLA which I have named. Is it possible to amend the name on the system generated DLA account?

Hi @Harvie

There is a slight bug here which I’ve asked to be investigated. You should be able to rename the original DLA but this won’t update the chart of accounts (it would behave in a similar way to renaming the Current Account).

I’ll let you know when this has been fixed.

If you’d prefer to have the Chart of Accounts display the correct name, you’re welcome to create another DLA.

If I did create another DLA would it be possible to have the system generated one deleted as it would never been used?

It’s not possible I’m afraid. But you can hide it to an extent. For example:

  • You can amend the settings of it so it doesn’t appear on your dashboard
  • If there is no balance it won’t appear on either your balance sheet or P&L report

@Harvie - Just a quick update to let you know that you can now rename the Director’s Loan bank account. However, as mentioned above, it won’t update in the reports (e.g. Chart of Accounts).
