If I in error enter the incorrect due date on an invoice but only spot it after the VAT return has been submitted, I cannot change the due date. I understand that one should not be allowed to change the amounts but the due date does not effect the VAT return.

The whole invoice is locked down when it is included in a vat return.
This is unlikely to change
You would have to credit the invoice and recreate it with the correct due date.
Please feel free to create a feature request on the forum, as we would make changes if there is enough demand.
Thank you thought that would be the case but thought I would ask.
I will just do the CN route.
