I have recently changed from my old company “Class Cleaning Services” to “Class Cleaning Solutions Ltd”. I am no longer using the old account I have with Quick file for Class Cleaning services but I am actively using only the new company name with QuickFile. I was wondering when I will be able to close down the old account I have and transfer completely to the new one. The reason for asking is that some of my clients have commented that our invoices are coming from a “very strange” email address and this obviously doesn’t look good. Also, there are features on the old account that I do not have on the new one. Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thank you
Is it case of moving from sole trader to ltd or change of name of existing company?
You are suppose to keep record of bookkeeping for 6 years, take backup and then it is safe to close account if you like, if not using old account wont cost any thing perhaps leave it as it is
Hi
I have gone from a sole trader to a Ltd company. I have a back up of the old company accounts etc but I need to have the new quickfile account to be using our email address which is above. Also, I do not have some features on the new account that I do need.
Can you tell me how I close the old account and just use the new one please.
Thank you
You don’t necessarily need to “close” the old account - now you’ve stopped adding new entries it will naturally drop out of the “subscription required” tier at some point in the next twelve months anyway, after which point you will be able to log back in if you need to look up any historical data in future.
However you have noticed that QuickFile doesn’t let you use the same email address to log in to two different accounts, so you will need to first change the admin email on your old sole trader account to something else, after which you should be able to change the new Ltd account to the email you were previously using for the sole trader one.
If your main email is your own domain name you will presumably have a way to create new addresses @ that domain, if your main email is a gmail then there’s a trick whereby you can add +suffix
to your address, i.e. yourname+anything@gmail.com
goes to the same mailbox as yourname@gmail.com
, other providers probably have a similar mechanism.
Hi
I have changed the email on the old account to another one I use, or at least I think I have. I am unable to change the email on the new account to the email that I was using.
Can you tell me how to change the email address please as I’m not sure I am doing it correctly.
Thank you
Hi again
I didn’t mention that the new account has been set up as an affinity account. Also, it doesn’t look like I have the correct permissions on the new account to be able to change the email address and I’m not sure how to change the permissions either.
Any help would be much appreciated
Thank you
I’m afraid I don’t have any experience with Affinity but I’m sure one of @QFSupport will be able to set you straight.
