Claiming expenses from before the accounting period

I started my limited company in May 2014, I’m the only employee and the director.
I did some days of work in April 14. The invoices were created in May and therefore have gone into the business account.
Can I claim mileage expenses for the days I worked in April 14?

I believe you can but that is something you need to verify with HMRC as they are the ones who control it , anyone here could say yes or no but the only ones who can truly answer you is HMRC if you want to stay in the right side of their laws
