Company Year End Date Adjusting

Hi
I have imported my tb as at 31/03/2016 so that I can year end and then input YE 2017 as individual transactions each month.
When I have tried to YE, there is no data in YE 2016, it is all in YE 2017.
I have noticed that my Next Year End Date in Company Settings is showing as 31/03/2018. I change it to show 31/03/2016, it says it has saved the adjustment and then if I go out of the settings and back again it shows as having reverted back to 31/03/2018.
Have I missed doing something really obvious?

What is the date of journal for TB imported for year 2016? make sure it is 31/3/2016 , if you create new journal by default system picks up current date

The dates at the top of the tb say 01/04/2015 to 31/03/2016, I can not remember but I am sure I imported the data as 31/03/2016

have a look at journals date itself under Reports> Journals, look for 2016 TB entries batch and check date on it

yes it is dated 31/03/2016
