I’ve tried reconnecting multiple times, I checked on HMRC side and they say it’s connected, I checked the VAT number and it is correct, tried waiting but nothing helps. I read the previous posts with the same issues but still weren’t able to resolve myself.
The two things I can think of is the suggestion of making sure that I connected to the right account but don’t know how to do it. Can I have some suggestions please? I am sure I did it right as I created new login just for that purpose.
The other thing is the MTD enrolment. How can I make sure we have that?
I would first reccomend trying removing and trying to reconnect your account in Reports > HMRC > Connect ensuring all details are correct
We have seen instances where local software has blocked the connection, I would reccomend trying the below.
Try incognito mode (ctrl+shift+n.
Try an alternate browser).
Try an alternate pc.
Try loading it in you mobiles browser (try WIFI and mobile data).
If you are sure everything is correct I would then reccomend contacting HMRC as this message comes from them, there may be an issue with your account on their end.
Thank you for the advice but I figured it out. Apparently I needed to add the VAT services on HMRC portal first. I got that info by calling the help line and they advised me to do that. Now all looks green.
A HMRC account can be for individuals (sole traders) or limited companies. This post related to an issue with VAT services.
If you are referring to MTD ITSA (Income Tax Self Assessment) we are currently Beta testing our MTD ITSA offering with a small number of customers in line with the HMRC pilot.
