Coop Bank Statements Import

Hello,

Has anyone had trouble with uploading statements for coop bank? I’ve just switched to them and it’s the first time uploading statements. They are excel or txt format. I used to use txt format for santander but this doesn’t seem compatible with coop. It also didn’t like excel so I converted it to csv but I get a message that the columns in my csv aren’t correctly mapped. I really don’t want to have to manually adjust csv files every 2 weeks which seems to be the only option for coop’s statements.

Any help grateful received to solve this without loads of extra work or having to pay extra for the banking feed!

Hello @blomma1

We are currently in the process of developing a bank feed for COOP but until the the excel option is the only way, If it helps, if you select “Other” for the bank name you can map the fields manually.

Thanks Steve! Fingers crossed it is released soon as it’s rather faffy but the ‘other’ tip worked so thanks for that

I have exactly the same issue.

Aren’t bank feeds a paid extra? With Santander I could just use a text file an it worked easily. The Bank platform exports a txt so can’t we just use that into QF like before?

If I use Other I get this error, that same as if I select Co-Op?

Have you tried the Excel format?

if you select “Other” for the bank name during the import you can map the fields manually.

To use Other, I found you had to use CSV and edit out the guff from the CSV just to get it visible properly in the field mapping within QF.

As there is some faffing with the CSV anyway, through trial and error I found it easier to modify like this:

  1. Convert XLS to CSV and open in Excel
  2. Remove all the rows of guff from the top of the CSV
  3. Space the columns so you can see the data correctly and then remove the blank columns
  4. Save and then Import that CSV using the standard Co-Op Bank option in QF

This is what the CSV should look like:

Works fine like that and is a bit quicker.

Hope that helps somebody.

If you guys could just edit your import function to allow for the current layout and xls format from Co-Op it would make it much simpler though!

I can send you a copy of the current export if you need it?
