QuickFile is free up to the first 1000 nominal postings in a rolling 12 month period.
If or when this threshold is reached then a Power User Subscription is required.
A Power User Subscription is £45+vat per year (£60+vat from 01/11/2022).
This includes MTD submissions and is simple to use.

It depends what you consider to be a “medium size company”.
As a guide:
- each sales invoice and each purchase invoice is at least 2 (if you’re not VAT registered) or 3 (if you are VAT registered) nominal postings
- each client or supplier payment is 2
- so a fully paid up sale or purchase invoice is at least 4 or 5 nominal entries in total
- each bank transfer and tax payment/refund (PAYE or VAT) is 2
- a journal is one nominal entry per journal line
So 3 sales and 2 purchases per week on average, each fully paid with a single payment, will be enough to tip you over the 1000 threshold within your first 12 months. If you have more transactions than that, or if you use any merchant accounts (e.g. to take payments by card) then it’ll be sooner.
