Deleting entries from the PayPal account has changed my current account balance

My business account is Barclays and it feeds into quick file each night automatically. I also have a Paypal acc that does the same. I have just noticed the Barclays balance in QF is a long way out, in fact GF is showing we have over £1,300 more than we actually have (and QF is wrong). I have compared all the transactions in Barclays and QF over the last few months and they all match up line for line so I am at a loss as to why the running balance is out. It must be out from totals a long way back.

It was however fine the last time I looked at it a few days ago so I have no idea what has changed it (or why). The Paypal account balances perfectly

If any support person can see any log or history or spot why it is now a long way out on the balance, it would be appreciated as I cant see any reason.

I think I have just worked out the problem. We previously had a Paypal account setup on QF that was manual. As we started using Paypal more and it became a lot of work, i spotted you could have Paypal automated but it was a separate Paypal named account in bank account setup. So I added that and it worked overnight in the automated way and is great.

A week or two ago I decided to remove the old manual paypal account to save any confusion. It wouldnt allow it to be removed due to transactions so I exported the data out (as a backup) and deleted them all away. 3 transactions remained that it would not allow removal of the account still remains.

I now realize that because the old Paypal transactions were removed, it has shown all those items as unpaid which will be why Barclays no longer matches up. I have gone to imported the paypal transactions back in to rectify this but get an error “There was an error processing your file Cannot find column 6”

As I exported the item to CSV from QF, I’m not sure why it is saying anything is missing and not importing back in as its QF’s own generated file?

I can see in hindsight why that’s a problem now but did take a copy of the data so hopefully there is a way to place it back in to correct the issue?

Those 3 remaining items are all credit noted so you’ll need to remove the credit notes before you will be able to delete them. If you’re struggling with that let me know and I will remove them for you.

Deleting all those items from the bank will revert any attached invoices back to unpaid, although that in iteself wouldn’t affect the Barclays balance. I suspect you had bank transfers tagged from the old PayPal account into Barclay and deleting those has removed the corresponding entry in the Barclays account.
