Is it safe to delete nominal codes which I no longer use, but have done in the past?
I’m specifically talking about those used to log my sales. I use to use one method of categorising sales, but now I’ve switched to another. I’ve checked and the codes I want to delete still show the sales allocated to them, years ago, in the past.
The primary reason I’m asking is to clean up the nominal code report. I know I can hide accounts with zero balances, but I’m just wondering, what will happen if I delete these codes instead?
On a related issue, is it safe to delete old bank account that I’ve had in the past, but are no longer use now? I’ve a few old account hidden that I’m wondering if deleting them would cause any problems.

You audit trail has records of the transactions from previous years.
If a code contains record it can not be deleted.
You would just hide codes with zero balances
Same process for bank accounts. (you can hide these in the banking screen)
Is that a fail safe? If I click delete is the system set up to prevent me from deleting codes previously used? I think I may have set up some codes, but never used them. I take it, it would be safe to delete these?
If codes you have created have no transactions you can delete them.
