I saw another post on this which gave the answer as altering the account lock date in settings. However when I look there the account lock date is set to april 17, which is 2 years before the period containing the transaction that I need to alter.
If you are altering a transaction that has been locked, it may have been locked by a VAT return, if this is the case the only way to unlock would be to roll-back the VAT returns one by one. The issue with this is when you re-run them the amounts may alter so you wouldn’t have an accurate record of the VAT
