Did the issue with Quickfile not being able to specify an exact date to GoCardless ever get sorted?

Ive enquired about this a few times in the past, and im wondering if it ever got sorted?

The issue is, if i use gocardless direct, i can set a direct debit to come out on a specific date every month. This doesnt change, its an exact date, and that is the date it comes out of the customers bank account.
If it falls on a weekend, gocardless bills them on the following monday (i think).
They would never bring it earlier so as to miss the weekend.
It either gets taken out on that exact date if its a working day, or the next working day.

I use quickfile, and its physically not possible to set an exact date to debit the customers bank account.
Customers regularly have the money taken out of their account after the date i want, and now and again before.
This causes multiple support issues from customers, including the odd failed payment.

The way it seems to work with quickfile is the date you set it for, it usually takes 3 to 3 workind days to get taken out of the customers bank, but its never exact, and causes issues if one of them days is a weekend.

The way i currently do is is this.
Raise an automaic invoice 7 days before the due date.
Set a delay of 3 days before quickfile issues the request to gocardless.
pray and hope it works on the correct day.

Quickfile say its the way go cardless works and its gocardless fault and to take it up with them.

GoCardless say its an issue with quickfile and to take it up with them.

Why can i set the exact date using GoCardless and not have any problems at all, but if i use quickfile the date is all over the place.

Thanks

Hello @adnw

It’s not possible in QuickFile

But the date specified in QuickFile is passed to GoCardless, so they should honour it

With recurring invoices, it’s requested as soon as possible, plus the delay you specify. The date there does vary, but it’s specified by GoCardless.

thanks for the reply.
it does get a bit frustrating.

it seems to be that when using quickfile to charge via gocardless, if you raise the charge or invoice, it takes on average 3 working days for that request to charge the customers bank account. this means that the charge date is all over the place and never the same date.
this also makes it virtually impossible to have the customers bank charged on the 1st of every month.

if i did it via gocardless, i could specify charge the customers bank on the 1st of every month, and thats when the customer would get charged every month.
