I am not sure if i’m doing something wrong here? The pricing page (QuickFile Pricing) states the XS, S and M tiers are FREE and 1 of the free features is:
“MTD Compatible VAT Returns”
So i signed up, and successfully did 1 VAT return. On the second submission i get an error stating i need to pay the £45 version per year for VAT submissions, and only the first one is free.
Is that correct? it seems a little misleading if this is the case, the pricing page clearly states the FREE versions include:
“MTD Compatible VAT Returns”
plural. not VAT Return. VAT RETURNS.
have i made a mistake? or should the pricing page be changed to be clearer and inform potential users that this feature isn’t included beyond a trial service of 1 single submission? and that VAT submissions are only for Large and XLarge Companies?
Hi gus. I’ve just taken a look at the pricing page you linked to and in the pricing table there’s no tick against the free tiers to show that bridging is included so I would say no. It’s only ticked against l and XL
You can do MTD VAT returns for free if you keep your accounting records in QuickFile and have it generate the returns from the QuickFile sales and purchase invoices (as long as your account remains within the free tier).
But the bridging mode is a separate thing where you keep your records in other software and only use QuickFile to upload the returns, and that requires a subscription after the first bridging return.
