We are about to invoice clients in Singapore and would like to know if we can collect payments using GoCardless/Stripe. I know QuickFile doesn’t support SEPA payments (in EURO) through GoCardless. What about SGD/Singaporese dollars?
If the client pays in GBP, can we use either GoCardless/Stripe?
Hi @WendyMPPL
At the moment, SEPA isn’t supported as our link with GoCardless only works with GBP invoices, whereas SEPA requires EUR. Any currency other than EUR, I believe GoCardless will reject for SEPA collections.
With Stripe, this does support multiple currencies. Whatever currency the invoice is in, the same currency will be passed to Stripe for collection. Stripe, I believe, will convert this to GBP before depositing to your bank account, although that’s something you’d have to check with them directly.
GBP invoices would work fine with GoCardless direct debit (but not SEPA), and Stripe.
Hope this helps.
Hi Mathew,
Many thanks for your quick and clear reply.
Kind regards,
Wendy
