Download client statement in CSV format

Hi All

One of my clients has advised that they will only accept Monthly Account Statement in an Excel format sheet. Is this possible and if so?

That sounds like a ridiculous request.

Are you sure they actually specifically requested an “excel format sheet” or was it something else? Did they maybe ask for a csv, or did they perhaps mean that they want it in csv format?

Excel format sheet is a bit of a loose term and isn’t really a standard filetype, and also would need some formatting applying so how would they want it formatting etc? A csv export of the statement would be what I would expect to see out of QuickFile. If your client wants a “excel format sheet” then this would be down to you or your client to format as they wish upon importing the csv. This is the standard way of exchanging data for inclusion in spreadsheets.

Statements in Quick File are produced in PDF format, there’s no facility to export as a CSV file (Readable in Excel). You could in theory provide them with a spreadsheet of all their invoices and payments for a period separately, but it’s a lot of extra work.

It’s not a request I’ve come across before but we’re not averse to adding a CSV export option for statements, certainly if there is further demand. For now I’ve converted your thread to a “Feature Request” and modified the title slightly.

This is there exact words:

“Can you please send it in excel format and ensure it includes invoice number, invoice date and gross value”.

They’re a FSTE 100 quoted business so I expect a number of suppliers are in a similar position.

That explains it! Normally you would send them a csv and they can then sort the data as they import it correctly. Sending an excel spreadsheet formatted by yourself may or not be what they want, and you also wouldn’t be able to guarantee that it would show in their version of Office in the same way it is displayed your end on whatever it you use.

There is now an Export Data button in the Client Statement view. It will export the full statement in CSV (Excel Compatible) format.

Cheers Glenn awesome will make my life so much easier
