Edit Invoice Items?

When creating an invoice you cane enter “Items” and it remembers these for future invoices, you can then use this to search past invoices.

Is it possible to edit this list of items anywhere?

The problem we have is that we seem to have entered the same “Item” multiple times, so when you try to search, I am guessing it only looks at the first instance and ignores the duplicates, thus making the search on Items useless.

Ideally we would like to be able to amalgamate duplicates, or even better don;t allow duplicates in the first place!

The items column use your Sales Inventory items to pull in information.

You can edit them in Sales > Sales Inventory

Changing the inventory item will not auto update existing invoice items. You would have to reselect them in relevant invoices.

What happens if I delete a duplicate that is being used by an invoice already? Will it let me? If so will the invoice(s) now have blank Item fields?

Is there anyway to amalgamate duplicates?

Nothing happens to the invoice, it is only read at the point it is inserted into an invoice (its a template).

Yes

No, if you want to standardise them all, delete the duplicates leaving the item/template with the correct details and you would have to modify each invoice and select the item you wish to use.

Note some invoice will not allow edits if they are in previous years or are vat locked
