Employee Pension Contribution

We have a Ltd company and are making payments as a salary sacrifice into a pension fund.
When we tag the expenditure in the bank listing to Pension Fund 2230 it does not show in the P&L, can someone explain what I need to do to get this expenditure to show in the P&L.

That looks rather complicated, we are using Bright Pay for our Payroll/Paye, so only the net figure is recorded in QuickFile.

Do I need to create a matching journal for the pension expense, if so what code should it be matched to?

By linking BrightPay to QuickFile, every time you run the payroll a set of journals will be posted into your QuickFile account.
