Ending business and starting new business on same current account

Hi, As of 15 July, one business ended and another took over but I need to use the same current account for transactions.

I see that I can not create a new account with the same account number in QF, so what options do I have? I would like to keep the same type of account and same bank so as to import tx data.

Possibly a hack might be to make a pseudo account number? Or would that cause an issue with importing data?

Hi,
The account number and sort code in quickfile is only for your own reference. You don’t need to enter it or you can also use a different number.

But in general if you change the business you may need a different quickfile account anyway, it’s probably worth checking that out.

Thanks for this. I do self assessment and this is a personal account so no third parties need to worry about it. I don’t even do reports in this QF account.

It is just a requirement to separate business txns at a certain date. Cheers.
