Hi When I create a new vat return I am getting the following message.
“HMRC have indicated that no data could be retrieved for this VRN”
I have registered with MTD and the account is showing both in quickfile and on HMRC

Contact hmrc to resolve the issue.
Have you had a similar issue. I have tried this already, they have of course sent me back here.
No I havent but the error usually indicated an issue with hmrc not allocating the periods correctly
How long have you waited since signing up to mtd? Did you receive confirmation email? Have you gone through the process of linking quickfile to your mtd account?

It sounds like HMRC aren’t able to retrieve the data using your VAT number.
Pretty much what you see is what we get from HMRC, so ultimately they are the ones with the answers. But things to check are things like the connected HMRC account - is it the correct one for that VAT account?
